The temple was constructed in 1855 and it was declared a national monument in 1978. One of the unique features of the temple is the various brightly coloured carvings and statues of Lord Vishnu along with other Hindu gods and goddesses adorning the temple’s façade. The temple has well laid out sanctums and a pillared pavilion built for the worship of processional deities.
