Singapore in October 2026: F1, Halloween & Things to Do

October is a lively month to visit Singapore. The city is gearing up for one of its biggest annual events, the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, while Halloween activities, seasonal attractions and evening experiences add even more to the calendar.

Whether you are visiting for Formula 1, travelling with family or simply planning a short city break, October is a good time to combine Singapore’s major attractions with special events happening around the city.

Here is what to look out for in Singapore in October 2026.

What’s Happening in Singapore in October 2026?

1. Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix – 9 to 11 October 2026

October’s biggest event is the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, taking place from 9 to 11 October 2026 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Singapore’s famous night race returns with an extra addition in 2026 — the city will host its first F1 Sprint weekend.

Friday includes practice and Sprint Qualifying, Saturday features the Sprint race followed by Grand Prix qualifying, while the main Formula 1 race takes place on Sunday evening.

Even if you are not attending the race, expect the Marina Bay area to be significantly busier during F1 weekend.

Visiting Singapore During F1?

If sightseeing is your priority, plan your Marina Bay attractions earlier in the week or earlier in the day before race activities begin.

2. Formula 1 Exhibition Singapore

Formula 1 fans can continue the experience away from the circuit at the Formula 1 Exhibition Singapore at Gardens by the Bay.

Running until 18 October 2026, the exhibition brings together more than 75 years of Formula 1 history, including race cars, helmets, racing suits, interviews and interactive racing simulators.

It is a good option if you are visiting Singapore around F1 weekend but do not have race tickets — or if you simply want to add another motorsport experience to your trip.

You can easily combine the exhibition with Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay sightseeing on the same day.

3. Halloween Horror Nights 14

If you prefer scares to speed, October is also Halloween season at Universal Studios Singapore.

Halloween Horror Nights 14 runs on selected evenings from late September through early November, including multiple dates throughout October.

Expect haunted houses, scare zones and live shows designed for thrill-seekers and horror fans. Halloween Horror Nights is aimed at older visitors and is not recommended for young children.

Make It a Full Sentosa Day

If you are heading to Sentosa for Halloween Horror Nights, you do not need to wait until evening to start exploring.

Spend the earlier part of the day taking the Singapore Cable Car across to Sentosa, visiting Singapore Oceanarium or exploring another Sentosa attraction before heading to Universal Studios Singapore in the evening.

For visitors who prefer something less frightening, you can end your Sentosa day with Wings of Time, an outdoor night show featuring water effects, lasers, music and fireworks by the sea.

4. Sunflower Surprise at Gardens by the Bay

From 9 October to 9 November 2026, the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay hosts Sunflower Surprise.

The floral display features bright sunflowers together with Portuguese-inspired elements, making it a colourful seasonal stop for families, couples and visitors looking for photo opportunities.

It is also easy to combine the Flower Dome with Cloud Forest and other Gardens by the Bay attractions in the same visit.

5. Garden Rhapsody – Opera in the Gardens

Gardens by the Bay also has a special October edition of its nightly Supertree light and sound show.

Throughout October, Garden Rhapsody – Opera in the Gardens brings together dramatic music and the illuminated Supertrees for an easy evening activity after visiting the conservatories.

If you are already around Marina Bay, it is a convenient way to extend your day into the evening without travelling far.

6. Explore Little India Ahead of Deepavali

Deepavali falls in early November 2026, so visitors travelling in the second half of October can start to experience the festive atmosphere building in Little India.

Serangoon Road and the surrounding streets become increasingly colourful in the lead-up to the festival, making October a good time to explore the neighbourhood, visit its temples, try local food and photograph the festive decorations.
